- 2 ⅓ cups almond milk or other milk of choice
- 1-2 tsp turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp ground ginger or 2 cm fresh ginger, finely grated
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- pinch nutmeg
- pinch black pepper ground
- 1 tbsp honey or more to preferred taste
- 1 tsp vanilla paste or extract
Whisk all of the ingredients together in a saucepan over medium heat and cook, whisking, until steaming hot (don't boil). A stick blender can be used (optional) to reduce sediment and create a light foam on the top. To achieve this, blend for one minute while heating.
Remove from the heat and pour into two cups. Enjoy!
- I make this turmeric latte with almond milk, however any type of milk can be used.
- If the turmeric latte is left to sit before consuming, some sediment will settle at the bottom of the cup. Use a spoon to stir before drinking.
- To help reduce sediment, use a stick blending while the latte is cooking. This will blend the ingredients together and also create a little foam on top, similar to a latte.
- Add a little coconut oil for extra good fats.
- Try adding a pinch of cardamom for extra flavour!
- The yellow colouring in turmeric will stain just about any surface it touches! Be mindful of white benchtops and clothing. Clean any spills immediately with soap and water.
- Try using a natural or Manuka honey for added health benefits.
